Built on Africa's newsrooms.

Leo and Leo Events are published by Jenga Systems Ltd. Leo doesn't employ reporters: the stories in it come from the newsrooms below, and each one carries its newsroom's name.

How Leo treats a newsroom's work

Credited

Every story carries its newsroom's name, the byline where one is published, and the date it went out.

Linked

Every story ends with a link to the original on the newsroom's own site.

Unedited

Leo's reader shows a story's text as the newsroom published it. Where a story can't be captured cleanly, Leo shows the headline and sends the reader to the newsroom.

No ads

We don't sell advertising against a newsroom's work, and its pictures load from its own servers.

Become a media partner.

We'd like formal agreements with the newsrooms Leo reads: how your stories appear, how they're credited and linked, and anything else that matters to you.

Where the rest of Leo and Leo Events comes from.

  • Radio

Stations are listed from the Radio Browser public directory and play live from the broadcaster's own stream. Leo doesn't record or store a broadcast.

    Radio Browser
  • Podcasts

Shows come from their publishers' public feeds, and episodes play — or download for offline listening — from the publisher's own servers, as in any podcast app.

    Public feeds
  • Video

Video opens on the publisher's own page.

    Publishers' pages
  • Events

Listings come from ticket sellers' public pages. Every listing links to its seller, and Leo takes no cut and holds no tickets.
