This page is for Leo - News, Finance & Discover (Leo), published by Jenga Systems Ltd. You can delete a Leo account in the app, or by writing to us if you no longer have the app, and you can delete some of your data without closing the account. Leo Events has no accounts: everything it keeps is on your phone.
In the Leo app
- Open Leo and tap your initials, at the top right of the Today screen.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm with your password. If your account has no password, the app asks you to sign in again first.
The account is deleted straight away.
By email
Write to info@leo.africa from the email address on the account, with the subject Delete my Leo account. We’ll check the request came from you, delete the account within 30 days, and tell you when it’s done.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in sessions.
- Everything kept on the account: your watchlist, follows, saved stories, portfolio holdings, alerts and price alerts.
- Your account details. The account record is anonymised — your email address, name and country are removed — and it can no longer be signed in to.
What remains, and for how long
- Ask Leo questions and answers are kept for 30 days from when they were asked, then deleted automatically.
- Ask Leo reports you sent are kept for 90 days from when you sent them, then deleted automatically.
- Usage records are tied to your phone’s install number, not to the account, and are deleted after 90 days.
- Notification tokens are unlinked from the account and switched off.
- Backups hold a copy of the account until they roll over, within 35 days.
- Payment references, if you ever made a payment, are kept to prevent fraud and to meet accounting obligations.
- On your phone, Leo keeps your preferences and saved items until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
Deleting some of your data
You don’t have to close your account to delete data from it.
- In the app. When you’re signed in, removing a saved story, a follow, a watchlist item, a price alert or a portfolio holding deletes it from our servers straight away.
- Ask Leo. Clearing the conversation removes it from your phone. We delete questions and answers from our servers 30 days after they were asked, and reports of answers after 90 days; to have yours deleted sooner, write to us.
- Anything else. Write to info@leo.africa from the email address on your account, with the subject Delete my Leo data, and say what you want deleted. We’ll check the request came from you and delete it within 30 days.
Data held without an account is linked only to a random install number that we can’t connect to you, so we can’t find it for you. It is deleted on the schedule in the privacy policy.
Leo Events
Leo Events has no accounts and keeps nothing about you on our servers. Your saved events, reminders, followed categories and country are on your phone, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
